| Dr. Lucie Casthely, affectionately known as "Dr. Lucie" by her patients, is an orthodontic specialist. An orthodontist is a trained dentist that has undergone additional training in order to correct the misalignment of teeth and the jaws. She is a graduate of the Harvard School of Dental Medicine where she obtained both her Doctorate in Dental Medicine degree (DMD) and Masters in Public Health (MPH). "Dr. Lucie" further continued her studies at the University of Florida in order to become certified as an Orthodontist and received a Master of Science (MS) degree. Given the long road to becoming an Orthodontist, "Dr. Lucie" is one of the first if not the only US-trained Haitian-American Orthodontist in South Florida. She is extremely excited about this, and plans to merge her knowledge of Orthodontics and Public Health to educate the community at large about the benefits of orthodontic treatment. "Braces used to be seen as something that only the rich could afford... my desire is to make this treatment availabe to all, especially for the children that really need it... given it has been proven that improving one's dentition improves dental health and self-image, we need to make this service accessible to our youth...they are the future," says "Dr. Lucie".
